2. Step 2 : Saint-Geniez - Authon

This beautiful stage takes you to the summit of Le Trainon along ridgelines that offer remarkable views of the Monges massif. Once at the summit, a 360-degree panorama unfolds: the Ecrins, the Baronnies, and the Durance Valley. The descent then takes place in the shade of a beech forest, leading to the village of Authon through the characteristic black marl formations. The cool waters of the Vançon, encountered just before entering the village, are a welcome relief.
