This final stage begins in Faucon-du-Caire. The ascent up the Ravin du Mort takes you higher up. You can quickly take in the entire valley and its varied terrain, as well as the impact of human activity, with its villages and numerous orchards. Indeed, fruit-growing is a major industry in this valley.

The rest of this fifth stage follows the Way of St. James (GR 653 D), passing through the Col du Buissonnet and the Col de la Berche, then through the forest via the Bois de la Combe.

Following the GR trail, the route returns to the valley floor at Le Caire, a tourist and adventure sports destination internationally renowned for its via ferrata.
The Grande Fistoire via ferrata offers a challenging climb up a 250-meter rock face, with breathtaking views.
Still in the heart of the Haute-Provence Geopark, this area is characterized in particular by large limestone formations (150 million years old). During your hike, you can stop here for a bit of adventure (admission fee applies and reservations are required at the Via Ferrata visitor center).

The return to La-Motte-du-Caire is imminent as you follow the course of the Grand Vallon torrent!
