This stage from Turriers to Faucon-du-Caire is about 12 kilometers long. Traveling from east to west, this new day gets off to a great start beneath the peaks of Les Plauts and Les Barses, with their impressive rocky ridges.
First on a trail, then on a footpath, a route through the marl leads to the Col des Rouyères. The descent takes place through the forest, via the Ravin de l’Échelle. This is where a fairly long section on a trail begins, which allows you to avoid the county road. Nestled just before Faucon-du-Caire, the secret Ravin de la Piche leads to the “chaos,” an area made up of massive boulders. A Geopark information panel provides explanations about the site.
The descent continues through the valley, crossing the Piche stream further down, to the “talking rock” overlooking the village (you can listen to a story on your smartphone by scanning the QR code on the rock). A short winding path leads back to the village.
