Description
Starting from Authon, this mountain bike tour begins across from the Gîte des Monge.
Take the D 103 to reach the Feissal trail, which runs alongside the Vançon River through a gorge and crosses the Clue du Vançon bridge. The trail offers a view of Pierre Mont. The trail continues and climbs to the hamlet of Feissal, still following the Vançon River.
Several scenic viewpoints offer views of the Monges area.
The route continues along a technical and steep trail that climbs and leads to La Croix de la Tatte (1,561 m). A singletrack continues down a trail toward the Crête de Pierre-Mont.
The final descent takes place on a playful trail through the woods that heads toward the Bastié River. Cross the river and head toward Authon on a trail that leads back to the starting point in the village.

Access and parking
From the roundabout north of Sisteron, take the D 951, then the D 3 to Saint Geniez. Drive through the village and continue on the D 3 to reach Authon.

This route goes up onto the wild ridges between the Monges summit and Jouère summit. The rise through the forest allows you to reach the Sapie pass where the landscape opens onto mountain pastures and offers a great panoramic view on the surrounding mountains and further, the Durance valley.
