Description
- Starting from the Sisteron Tourist Office, follow the Chemins du Soleil route through the town center. Take the botanical trail and the Molard ridges (viewpoint), which are technically challenging. A short portage is required.
- Head toward the Col de la Mairie and then the Pas de St-Pensier, alternating between technical sections, marl, and woodland until you reach the Chatillon spring.
- A climb up a shaded trail leads, with a short portage, to the Pas de l'Essaillon, located at the foot of the Pierre Impie rock (climbing site).
- Then head down into the Jabron Valley (viewpoint) and reach the village of Valbelle, at the foot of Mount Lure.
- The return trip follows trails and paths. Head to the Gournias Bridge (a great spot for swimming in the summer) via the Saint-Dominique Chapel on the Thor Plateau. Return to Sisteron partly via the GR trail to complete the loop at the tourist office.
