This quick and easy hike is perfect for exploring the Buëch and Durance valleys, which shape the landscapes of the Sisteron region. The hike ends near the citadel of Sisteron, an exceptional landmark of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence that proudly overlooks the town of Sisteron.
Follow the Mountain Bike Trail No. 4

Description

Leave Place de la République and head toward Chemin de la Marquise. Ride along this small road straight into the heart of the countryside, passing through meadows and wooded areas. After about 3 km through the valley, take the rocky path on the right. The route alternates between forests and more open areas before rejoining the road. A beautiful view opens up over the Buëch and Durance valleys. On a clear day, the Dévoluy massif is also visible. Continue straight ahead to reach the foothills of the Citadel of Sisteron. Then head back down into the city center to return to the starting point.
