A long mountain bike loop near Sisteron that combines forests, scenic views, historic architecture, and challenging downhill sections!
Follow the Mountain Bike Trail No. 14

Description

Starting from the center of Ribiers, head toward the school and climb for several kilometers along a road and then a trail. This will take you to the Col de Couaïs, where you’ll descend into the Jabron Valley. A long descent along the trail gives you a chance to rest after the climb. Pass through the village of St-Martin and follow the trail to the St-Claude Chapel. A trail leads to Vieux Noyers. The atmosphere among the ruins is unique. Go around the church and continue on the trail. For a change of scenery, head back into the Buëch Valley via the Col de St-Pensier, then the Pas de St-Pensier. The trail is technical (with a few steps) and then smooth until you reach the dirt road. Head up the track, then turn right onto a smooth single track before reaching the Rocher de Pierre Impie. Caution: on the rest of this descent, there are many intersections and the trail is not always clearly visible; follow the markings carefully (same route as the PR—yellow—markings). The final few kilometers to Ribiers are on the road.
