This short back and forth hike leads to the hamlet of Saint-Symphorien. Now a ghost village, it has been gradually abandoned by its inhabitants. In 1973, definitively emptied, it was attached to Vilhosc in the commune of Entrepierres. At the biginning of the hike, you’ll cross a bridge, the Pont de la Reine Jeanne. Its construction dates from the end of the 14th century. Its name refers to Queen Jeanne 1st of Anjou, who was also Queen of Provence and Naples, in recognition of the good she did for the people of Sisteron by improving their living conditions.

Description

Cross the bridge (Pont de la Reine Jeanne) and come out on the track (D 217) which climbs through the forest to the hamlet of St-Symphorien.
Take the same route to come back.

Take some time to visit the Vilhosc crypt, a monument of the first Romanesque art, very well preserved and whose construction dates from the 11th century (sold as national property during the Revolution, this place is now private; therefore it is mandatory to ask for admission in advance).
