A short, easy bike ride to Saint André de Rosans and its 10th-century Benedictine priory.

Description

  1. This easy loop takes you on a tour of the Rosanais basin. The fortified village of Rosans looks like a jewel set in a lush green setting. The ochre-colored facades, the sun-kissed hues of the canal tiles, and the striking Square Tower invite you to explore further! Strolling through Rosans, you’ll discover all the charm of medieval towns: cobblestone streets, covered passageways, religious buildings, fountains and wash houses, beautiful mansions, and ornate gates.
  2. Along the way, don’t miss the former Cluniac priory of Saint-André-de-Rosans, a listed Historic Monument and a fine example of Provençal Romanesque architecture with its carved friezes and 12th-century mosaics, identical to those at the monastery of Ganagobie.
  3. The route continues along the Eygues River on the D 425. At the intersection with the Ferme aux Arômes de Mange-Fèves, continue right onto the D 116.
  4. Finally, take the D 25 to return to Rosans.
