The only challenging part of this mountain bike trail is the steady climb at the start.
This easy, family-friendly route takes you above the famous Méouge Gorges. It passes near the Brusq forest ranger station along an easy forest path through the woods. This route also offers a chance to spot paragliders and watch them land.
Follow the mountain bike trail N°5 (VTT N°5)

Description

  1. Follow the road to the left toward the Chabre launch site. At the southern landing area, you can watch paragliders land. Continue along the road.
  2. At the fork (760 m), turn right toward the launch site. Below the Brusq forest house, a spring flows just below the trail.
  3. Continue along the path on the right. Those paying close attention may spot some ruins along the way.
  4. At a bend, join another trail (black level) and cross an old bridge to descend straight down to Pomet.

Access and parking

From Sisteron (18 km), follow the D 948 to Le Plan / Antonaves, then take the D 942 to Pomet.
