Partly following the Route des Princes d'Orange, which connects the town of Orange (Vaucluse) to the village of Orpierre, this varied route winds through the Céans Valley. A stop at the medieval village of Orpierre, also known for its rock-climbing site, is a must.

Description

  1. From Rosans, take the D 994 to Saint André de Rosans (a 12th-century Cluniac priory). 
  2. Cross the Col de la Flachière (870 m), continue on to Montjay, then pass through the village of Trescléoux. 
  3. When you reach the foot of the hilltop village of Lagrand, turn right toward Orpierre, a charming medieval village nestled at the foot of cliffs known to climbers worldwide. At the village exit, turn right onto the D 130 to Villebois-les-Pins. 
  4. Pass the Col du Reychasset (1,052 m – underground glacier), then head toward Chauvac and continue on the D 316 to Chauvac, then Montferrand-la-Fare to reach Rosans via the D 25.

Access and parking

From Serres (24 km), take the D 994 to Rosans. Turn right in the village center onto the D 25.
